Kevin Rudolf in Concert

Since I can’t stop listening to Let It Rock, I decided to check him out live.

This is who performed In order of appearance:

Go Crash Audio
The Audition
Cash Cash
Hyper Crush
Jeremy Greene
Kevin Rudolf

I enjoyed the show but I think he needs to work on his performing skills a little. He was upstaged by the 5 opening acts ahead of him. lol Seriously, they all put on a better (and longer) show then he did. Not to mention that half the crowd left before he even came out… (There was only about a 100 people who stayed) The fact that they made us wait about an hour didn’t help either.

Go Crash Audio, The Audition, Cash Cash put on some great shows. I don’t even listen to pop Rock that much and they had me singin’ a long with them. lol

Here’s a Gallery of them Performing

Now, on to the Stand Out performance of the night IMO, Hyper Crush. For those of you who never heard of them. (I never heard of them until that night)

These guys (and gal), have this techo/hip-hop style to their music. What amazed me was the lighting effects throughout the performance. CRAZY!! Of course this is coming from someone who never been to a light show 😉 It’s best to view the Gallery that performance. (even though it looked better in person 😉 )

About 30 minutes later, this kid named Jeremy Greene(R&B/pop) came out and performed a couple of his songs. He seems to be one of Myspace Records’ artists. He brought plenty of energy to the table, but I’ll have to hear more before I can considered myself a fan.

Now, a freaking hour later, here comes Kevin Rudolf. Visually disappointed with the amount of people in the crowd. lol Even the hype man acknowledged how small the crowd was…

His performance felt more like a showcase than a concert. Kevin didn’t interact with the audience much. (sorta expected him to talk to the crowd for a while but oh well..)They played each song straight out, no huge change ups or nothin’…(nervous perhaps?) Everyone on stage glanced at the piece of paper on the floor next to them(set list perhaps?) after each song and kept performing. (The transition from song to song was smooth btw) His hype man introduced each song and brought a lot of energy to the table.

Other than his mic going in and out, I still enjoyed his performance, It just felt…short, about 30 min. It is his first album so I guess he’s forgiven 😉

The last song he performed was Let it Rock, Lovin’ the guitars near the end of the song. I think I’m addicted to that song again. lol

Overall, I enjoyed the concert and instantly became fans with everyone who performed.

It should be noted that Live Nation launched his tour in our town. (Nashville, TN) So for a first show he didn’t do to bad, Everyone on the bill did perform like it was packed (The Venue holds about 500, only about 200 there, about 100 during Kevin Performance…)…

Kevin Performance just seemed rushed, that’s all.

Maybe he’ll get better as the tour rolls on.
